Growing with the Starts – Open Day
Saturday 25th June 2016 at 10am. Teignmouth Community School, Exter Road.
Are you an ex-pupil of Teignmouth Community School? Do you remember the walled garden and observatory which are within the grounds? Are you a local historian with knowledge of the school site, the families who lived their, its time as a military hospital, establishment for boys, girls school or grammar school? Do you remember attending Shakespearian plays in the walled garden or the launch of the Hedley Robinson observatory? If so, we would like to hear from you. Your memories could help us to restore the garden, observatory and coach house which are currently being considered for a Heritage Lottery grant.
You can find out more by coming along to our Open Day on Saturday 25th June. The event will start in the Teignmouth Community School auditorium at 10am with presentations by Viv Wilson MBE and Musk Frost on the history of the site and observatory. This will be followed by a visit to the walled garden and observatory.
Those unable to attend the presentations can still come along to the walled garden which will be open from 11.15-2pm. Follow the drive to the Alive Sports Centre where you can park next to the coach house.
